Types Of Current Mobile Banking Accounts
There are three types of Current accounts: Basic, Premium and Teen. All three account types do not require a minimum balance to open or maintain, nor do they charge overdraft or other hidden fees.
All three are also FDIC-insured up to $250,000 and allow you to easily make a check deposit via the Current app. Here’s how the three account types differ:
You can get direct deposits credited to your Current account up to two days faster than with other banking institutions. That means if you normally get your paycheck deposited on Friday, you’ll see the funds as soon as Wednesday.
Gas stations often place a hold for a certain amount of money when you purchase gas with your card. Depending on your location, that hold can be upwards of $100 or more. If you pay with your Current Premium debit card, you’ll get an immediate refund for this hold. So your money won’t get tied up at the pump.
Current offers Teen accounts that give parents a lot of control. Teens can open their own account and debit card, but parents can set spending limits, block certain types of purchases, receive notifications about spending behavior and schedule an allowance.
These individual savings goals help you stockpile money for a certain expense or for general savings. Simply give the Savings Pod a name, then choose how you’d like to fund it. Either by manually transferring money from your Current account, automatically adding new funds monthly, or rounding up all your payments to the nearest dollar and placing the excess in your Savings Pod.
