All pre-order bonuses for WoW The War Within

World of Warcraft’s next chapter, The War Within, is just around the corner. WoW expansions always have various editions that include different bonuses, but The War Within takes things to the next level—rather controversially.

There are lots of pre-order bonuses in WoW‘s next expansion, including one you won’t want to miss out on if you’re dead-set on having the best start possible. To find out what’s included when you pre-order The War Within, launching Aug. 26, keep reading.

Which edition of WoW The War Within should you purchase?

If you consider yourself an average WoW player who doesn’t push for server-firsts or strive to be the best of their class, WoW: The War Within Base Edition suits you fine. You get the expansion, plus a level 70 character boost so you can jump straight in—or make an expansion-ready alt if you already have a max-level character.

All the extras in the two pricier editions are nice, but they’re superfluous and ultimately unnecessary. Unless you’re a die-hard collector or particularly want the mount, transmog set, or pet, you should stick to the Base Edition.

Having said that, The War Within’s most expensive version—Epic Edition—comes with three full days of early access, starting Aug. 22. This gives you an enormous head-start over other players.

It’s the first time in Blizzard’s history that a WoW expansion has let you pay for early access, and players aren’t happy. It’s up to you if you want to dish out the extra $40 to play three days early, but personally, I’d rather not support this practice.
