All Marvel Rivals modes confirmed so far

Marvel Rivals has attracted plenty of interest, and if you’re considering jumping into the team shooter, you need to know which game modes are on offer.

Like with any six-vs-six shooter, you’ll likely gravitate more to one or two of Marvel Rivals‘ game modes than the others. Fortunately, despite the game being in beta, there are several game modes to choose from.

Here are all the game modes confirmed for Marvel Rivals so far..

Marvel Rivals has three confirmed game modes so far: Convoy, Domination, and Convergence. Here’s what each mode entails.

Convoy

As the name suggests, Convoy is similar to the Payload or Escort game mode type from Overwatch 2. An attacking team accompanies an objective on a set path through the map while the defending team attempts to stop it from progressing.

Domination

Domination features multiple control points that need capturing, similar to the Call of Duty game mode of the same name.

Convergence

Convergence features all players converging to one point in a King of the Hill-style mode with one single control point that changes locations.

All Marvel Rivals lobbies

Marvel Rivals has five lobbies you can play in:

  • Tutorial: Practice your superhero abilities.
  • Quick Match: Standard match against others for fun.
  • Pocket Universe: Respawn at flexible locations as you defeat as many enemies as possible.
  • Custom: Create custom matches to play with friends.
  • Competitive: Climb the ranks in competitive Marvel Rivals.

You can play the three game modes above in Quick Match, Custom, Competitive, or Pocket Universe. All lobbies and modes are available to try out during the closed beta.

Will Marvel Rivals have PvE?

As things stand, a PvE game mode hasn’t been confirmed for Marvel Rivals. Dubbed by many as the Overwatch killer, Marvel Rivals seems to primarily focus on giving players a solid PvP experience where they can pick out their favorite Marvel hero and duke it out on its stellar-looking maps. Developer NetEase described the title as a “matchmaking-based multiplayer game.”

Marvel has already had live-service PvE games, which didn’t meet sales expectations, so it remains to be seen if a PvE mode will ever make an appearance in Marvel Rivals.
