Will MTG Nadu have its wings snipped before next Banned and Restricted announcement?

Nadu, Winged Wisdom is one of the strongest and most despised Magic: The Gathering cards to drop into the Modern format through Modern Horizons 3.

The issue many MTG players are having with Nadu, Winged Wisdom is that the Simic-colored Rare is warping the Modern format, much like what Oko, Thief of Crowns did to Standard when Throne of Eldraine was released. Played in Bant colors at the Modern Horizons 3 Pro Tour and referred to as Bant Nadu, the build dominated the field and the top eight. Many players after the Pro Tour called for the Legnedary Bird Wizard to get banned, including Simon Nielsen, who won the tournament with Bant Nadu.

Is Nadu getting banned at next MTG Banned and Restricted announcement?

Nadu, Winged Wisdom is more than likely getting banned for the Aug. 26 announcement, but not earlier, according to WotC communication director Blake Rasmussen. The next MTG Banned and Restricted announcement is scheduled to drop on Aug. 26, but this is a problem for many Modern players since the RCQ season starts on Aug. 3.

Will the MTG Banned and Restricted schedule be adjusted?

Adjustments for the coming season or seasons after are likely, given WotC is still testing out the ideal set schedule for ban announcements. The Standard format was a priority when the MTG Banned and Restricted schedule was revamped, which is how a B&R is taking place only a couple of weeks after the Modern RCQ season begins.

Emergency bans have taken place before, but WotC is trying to move away from these as it can impact players financially and mentally when they struggle to put together a new build for upcoming tournaments. No emergency ban has been announced at time of writing.
