Platinum Crystals are one of the many resources you can find while playing Once Human, and they’re a vital item to acquire during your playthrough. They’re required in a handful of crafting recipes, but you can also transform them into higher-quality resources which you can sell to vendors.
You won’t be able to obtain Platinum Crystals regularly. Instead, they only appear in a specific region, meaning you’ll want to focus on getting there. Once you reach that area in Once Human, the next thing to do is to know where they drop and the best way to obtain them. Although they drop from multiple places, some are far better than others.
Where to get Platinum Crystals in Once Human
You can get Platinum Crystals when you enter the Red Sands area of Once Human. It’s one of the final areas you can start exploring in your playthrough, and it’s recommended that you be ready to face off against enemies in the levels 41 to 50 range. However, if you’re lower than this threshold, it won’t be the end of the world. You should be able to handle many of the standard enemies, but you might struggle against the elite foes you find while exploring the more heavily defended strongholds.
There’s a good chance you receive Platinum Crystals whenever you open up a weapon or gear chest within the Red Sands area. You can find these crates inside the marked strongholds throughout Red Sands, and these are easily the best way to receive this resource. There’s also a slight chance you can get them whenever opening a storage crate, but you have a much better chance with any weapons or gear chests, similar to the Vanadium Crystals.
Unfortunately, the problem with focusing on these chests is they respawn after a set amount of time. You must wait for a full in-game Once Human day before you can loot them again, which happens every four hours. After the four-hour reset, you can return to any previously opened crate and lift the top off again, with another chance to earn Platinum Crystals.
You can continue doing this in Once Human as many times as you want, so long as you respect the four-hour timer. If you get enough Platinum Crystals, you can craft powerful weapons or create Rare Crystal Sets.
