Marvel Snap players think this long-anticipated new feature isn’t ‘worth the effort’

Marvel Snap’s new Alliance feature has been in the works for quite some time. It was finally released last week, giving players a new grind to chase down in the addicting card battler.

Similar to clans, Alliances support up to 30 players and have both individual and group goals with rewards given at the end of each week. But for some of the game’s dedicated players, the grind is simply “not worth the effort.”

Players discussed the new feature in an Aug. 7 Reddit thread, and many came to the same conclusion that the Bounties offered in Snap’s Alliances, and the rewards earned from them, simply aren’t worth the grind.

“I joined an Alliance recently and have been focusing on completing bounties but after doing discard, move specific cards, fill lanes, and eight cube bounties I’ve only gained rewards that I could easily get from upgrading cards or just doing a single hard daily mission,” the original poster said. “Could they not have made the first personal reward be 100 boosters and then the rest be 100 credits or 50 gold or something more rewarding?”

Bounties have different goals and often include using specific cards, which makes players try different decks they normally wouldn’t. Most would say this is a good thing, but the end goals are not quite there yet, for some.

“They really are vastly underwhelming,” another player said. “I like the idea of a carrot to play different decks and styles than you normally would, but we really need a better carrot. I was more compelled by the guild leaderboard than the actual rewards.”

Others said they only pick up Bounties related to decks they run and only play what they want to play to passively earn the rewards while playing as normal, so not everyone feels this same way.

Personally, I’ve enjoyed my time in my Alliance, and the dopamine hit of all the rewards unlocking every Tuesday is worth the minimal extra grind alone. And if the grind ever doesn’t feel worth it, I simply won’t participate.
