How to unlock armor in Helldivers 2

There are three ways to unlock new armor in Helldivers 2:

  • Warbond: Free or premium ($9.99)
  • Superstore: Rotates every two to three days and updates with every premium Warbond release.
  • Event drops: Twitch or Steam (via PlayStation Access)

You cannot stumble across armor on a planet (like Samples) or unlock armor by completing missions. While free capes and armor occasionally appear in your account, these are references made by Arrowhead to past controversies (e.g., a cape for the liberation of Malevelon Creek or when the community review-bombed Helldivers 2).

Go to the Armory inside your Super Destroyer to equip a new armor, helmet, and cape. The Armory shows what you own, separated into armor types (heavy, medium, and light), and gives you the freedom to mix and match your body armor and helmet. While it is in high demand, armor customization isn’t available yet. Some helmets have secret stats that buff your body armor, while capes act merely as cosmetic items.

All armor you haven’t unlocked yet is accessible via the Acquisitions menu. This showcases all Warbonds and what’s currently available in the Superstore.
