NYT Mini Crossword Aug. 14 difficulty rating, explained
Today’s crossword was a brute—as I’ve said in another couple of today’s clue guides. The obscurity of the solutions and the consistent length of the clues made this take longer than usual; it even required me to dip into the hint bank. “Hilly” was one I got on my own, but for the majority of the puzzle, I struggled. This is an easy five out of five for toughness.
