After a grueling summer split, our top six LCS squads converge for North America’s League of Legends crown in the Summer Championship.
This edition of the LCS summer playoffs is a little more special: Not only will teams be playing for a spot at this year’s League World Championship, but this is the last LCS of its kind before the subregion merger sees South American squads join the fold for 2025.
Who will fly the flag at Worlds later this year? Will Liquid continue its undefeated form from the regular season? By early September, all will be answered. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 LCS Summer Championship.

LCS Summer Championship 2024 format and teams
The top six teams from the LCS Summer Split—Team Liquid, Cloud9, FlyQuest, Dignitas, 100 Thieves, and NRG—all qualified for the Summer Championship, determining who will represent the region at Worlds 2024.
The top two were given a first-round bye in the upper bracket, while third to sixth from the regular season opened affairs on Aug. 17. Each series is a best-of-five with teams given an extra life via the double-elimination playoff bracket. The two teams that qualify for the upper bracket final will book their spot at Worlds, while the third will be decided by which team fights through the lower bracket to its respective final.
The action isn’t over once the LCS reps for Worlds have been decided, with the final three playing out the bracket to determine who takes home the trophy as North America’s best League team. Here are the standings for the LCS Summer Championship 2024, with the top three booking their tickets to Worlds 2024.
