Treyarch released Black Ops 6’s multiplayer menu music—and it’s a certified banger

Even though it’s normally the background noise while talking with friends or arguing with enemies in the lobby, a good Call of Duty theme song can be as memorable as any map or weapon.

Treyarch has just released the official multiplayer theme for Black Ops 6 ahead of tomorrow’s reveal and this weekend’s beta test, and it’s fittingly awesome and eerily reminiscent of one of the series’ best themes from Black Ops 2. And the good news is it’s a banger.

The song is composed by Jack Wall, who has also worked on songs for several games, including BO2’s theme “Adrenaline” (some of which can be heard as an influence in this new one), Black Ops 3, Black Ops 4, Black Ops: Cold War, Vanguard, and even last year’s Modern Warfare 3. Big Giant Circles and ROMES also collaborated with Wall for the new beats.

I look back at “Adrenaline” fondly because BO2 was my most-played CoD game, by a long shot. It’s good to have Wall back again and working on this multiplayer theme, which I think has the potential to be a memorable one, and one of the best in recent memory.

And at 2:15, you can hear “Adrenaline” in the BO6 theme. I honestly got some chills the first time I heard it. Pure, nostalgia-filled chills. What a time to be a CoD player with few responsibilities.

Will you be turning this one up when it’s time to gather the squad for ranked play, Zombies, or even Warzone? I’ll personally be banging this one all week as I work in preparation for this weekend’s beta, at which point my soundtrack will turn off and I will listen to the screams of my enemies.

BO6 will be fully revealed tomorrow at CoD Next and the early access beta begins on Friday, Aug. 30.
