Best Nursery Rhyme outfit ideas in Dress to Impress

Dress to Impress has a variety of themes for each fashion show, ranging anywhere from classy to cute. On the cuter end, you might run into the Nursery Rhyme theme.

The Nursery Rhyme theme should immediately bring you back to your early childhood when tunes like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Humpty Dumpty” were drilled into your head. Thanks to Dress to Impress, you can turn those iconic nursery rhymes into fun outfits for your next walk down the runway.

If you happen to get Nursery Rhyme as your theme and aren’t sure where to start, here are a few different looks for you to try.

Best Nursery Rhyme outfit inspiration for Dress to Impress

As catchy as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Humpty Dumpty” are, I went with two other nursery rhymes for fashion inspiration, “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and “Itsy Bitsy Spider,” since there are plenty of pieces and patterns to work with.

1) Mary Had a Little Lamb

Mary’s cute little lamb is a very easy look because you don’t have to think much for color—just go with white shades and patterns. There’s also a lot of fluffy items to take advantage of such as the fur hat, ear muffs, and leg warmers to resemble the lamb’s wool.

For the top, you can go with either the puffy jacket or the one with fur on the collar and sleeves. It helps to have a poofy skirt for a rounder look if you have one available. Finish the outfit with the fluffy bag resembling either a lamb or bunny (obtainable with a Dress to Impress code).

2) Itsy Bitsy Spider

For a darker spin on the Nursery Rhyme theme, the “Itsy Bitsy Spider” is a great choice. There are a handful of patterns that feature or resemble spider webs, so be sure to incorporate that into your look along with a lot of black and dark shades. I used a lacey black and white pattern on two skirts to give them a spooky spider web effect. Then, I specifically put on a black shirt with a red heart to imitate the red marking on black widows. Feel free to throw on long jewelry or the fishnet patterns to make the Dress to Impress outfit edgier and more web-like.
