How to complete all Purgatory Island challenges in Warzone

The Haunting is here in Call of Duty and it’s brought a haunted mode in Warzone, along with several spooky rewards to unlock.

There are several challenges to complete to unlock all of the free goodies this time around. Here’s everything you need to do to unlock the “Cloud Watching” camo in Warzone and unlock all nine rewards in the Purgatory Island limited-time event in CoD.

Challenge: Reach Torment level two

  • Reward: “Dead Guy Walking “emblem

Torment level is a feature on Purgatory Island that’s denoted by the skull icons on the top left of your screen under the mini-map. To raise your Torment level, get kills on enemy operators and Mercenaries while staying alive. The more kills you get, the higher your Torment level goes. But dying and respawning will reset your Torment level back to zero.

Challenge: Spend five minutes outside the Safe Zone without killing another operator

  • Reward: “Kingdom’s Gate” emblem

This challenge is self-explanatory but somewhat difficult to accomplish. All you need to do is survive for five minutes straight without killing anybody, but it can easily be disrupted by a rambunctious enemy player who finds you.

The best way to do this challenge is to find a safe area with your teammates and have your squad protect you and keep you alive for as long as possible. The Safe Zones are found at Bioweapons and Stronghold, so just stay away from there and you should be good.

Challenge: Get 50 Mercenary kills using the Terriball, or while in a vehicle

  • Reward: “Devil’s Favorite” calling card

The Terriball is just plain annoying and easily the worst part of Purgatory Island. The big ball of death can be found in various spots out in the open, but your best bet here is to farm Mercenaries while driving around in a vehicle. You can run them down in your car or have a friend drive for you while you lean out with your weapon to gun them down. It’s time-consuming but simple enough.

Challenge: Commend five operators while in the Safe Zone

  • Reward: “Favored One” calling card

This is an easy one. Find the Safe Zones at Bioweapons and Stronghold, walk up to other operators, and follow the on-screen prompt to commend them (Square on PS5). This must be done to five different operators, so make sure to keep trying until the challenge pops up that it’s completed.

Challenge: Get five operator kills while in a vehicle

  • Reward: “Inner Demons” weapon camo

Another self-explanatory challenge, this one is way easier with a group. Hop into a vehicle and either run down other players or aim out of a moving vehicle to pick off enemy operators five times to get this new camo.

Challenge: Get three operator kills using the Terriball

  • Reward: “Still Beating” weapon camo

Unfortunately for gamers, this challenge does require using the Terriball. Three or four of these will spawn in the middle areas of the map each game, and you must use them to finish off three other players. The best way to do this is to stay near a Terriball, fight an enemy that comes near you, down them, and then shoot the Terriball in their direction to finish them off.

Challenge: Teleport 15 times using portals

  • Reward: “Supportive Gesture” charm

This one is simple and can be done with relative ease. Check your Tac Map for a black oval icon, as these are where all of the portals on Purgatory Island are located. Jump into a portal 15 times for an easy win.

Challenge: Pilot the Flying Shipment

  • Reward: “Flying Bullet” charm

The odd-looking, tentacle monster flying around the map is actually a flyable version of Shipment. You can land on it and play it like any other Shipment map, but if you climb on top of the shipping containers, inside of one of them is a console that you can use to actually pilot the Shipment and fly it around the map. Do this once to earn the reward.

The oddly unrelated camo reward for completing all of the above challenges is “Cloud Watching,” which depicts a happy, blue-skied, cloudy day that has nothing at all to do with the rest of the event.
