How to Create Velanna in Dragon Age Inquisition

Velanna is a companion in the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening expansion. She’s a blond mage elf you meet in the woods after the Darkspawn killed her people and took her sister. She’s not in Inquisition, but you can create a character with her appearance and play as the beautiful mage.

How to Create Velanna in Dragon Age: Inquisition

When customizing characters in Dragon Age: Inquisition, there are two ways you can do it: through sliders or quadrants. Sliders have a limited number of options, so if we pick Face Shape number two, it’s the second option in the Face Shape the slider, or if it’s Hair number 16, from left to right, you’ll move the slider 15 times to find the hair.

When choosing with the quadrants, use the vertical and horizontal directions as reference—top right, top left, bottom right, and bottom left. So when describing the position, we first set the vertical position and then the horizontal position.

General

To start, choose a female Elf, then select the Mage class. We’ll begin the customization from the Head One preset. Velanna has a long and thin face, light skin, blond hair in a high bun with bangs, and green eyes.

BioWare didn’t include her exact hairstyle, but there is a high bun without the bangs, and the higher-pitched feminine voice option is pretty close to her voice in Dragon Age: Origins.

Head and Ears

Velanna’s ears are close to her head and the pointy part of the elf’s ear goes up to her eye level. She has prominent and low cheekbones, a wide forehead, and thin eyebrows.

Eyes

She has deep and small almond-shaped eyes with thin double eyelids. Velanna’s eyebrows are so thin and long that it looks like she doesn’t have them in most lighting, because of that, you could go browless like we did. There is no need to change the Outer and Inner Iris Colors.

Scars and Tattoos

Velanna has no scars and a light brown elven tattoo on her forehead and chin, so the only customization option we’ll change is Tattoo Design and Tattoo Color. You won’t find the exact design in the options but there is one that’s close.

Makeup

She doesn’t use colorful makeup except for a bit of blush, but we’ll use it to make her eyes look deeper and with more dimension. Unfortunately, the blush isn’t in the same place as in Dragon Age: Origins, but it still adds dimension to her face. You don’t need to change Eyelash Color, Eyeliner Color, Eyeliner Intensity, and Lip Liner Color.
