Disney Dreamlight Valley has been keeping players around the world occupied with regular updates since it launched, bringing new content to the valley on a consistent basis. Updates are released fairly frequently, so you might be wondering when the next one is.
If you’re eager to explore new additions to the valley as soon as they’re available, knowing when to expect the next update can be helpful, especially if you want to prepare by stocking up on Star Coins or key resources. Here’s everything we know about when the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update is.
When is the next update for Disney Dreamlight Valley?
The next Disney Dreamlight Valley update will be released in early 2025, and although an official date hasn’t been shared yet, this likely means sometime in early February. DDV has a pretty consistent update schedule with new content launching every other month, so since the last update launched in December, we’re due for new content in February.
The current Frost & Fairies Star Path event also ends on Feb. 4. When these special events conclude, we usually get a fresh Star Path to work on fairly soon after which is another strong indicator that we can expect to see a new update in early February.
Based on past patterns, we can likely expect the next update to launch somewhere between Feb. 4 to Feb. 14. Gameloft often drops updates on Wednesdays, so Feb. 12 is probably the most likely date with teasers leading up to it starting the week before.
All past updates have launched at exactly 8am CT, so the next update likely will too as long as everything stays on schedule. There’s no official name for this update just yet, but we do already know what it will include based on the 2025 DDV roadmap.
What will the next Disney Dreamlight Valley update include?
The next DDV update will feature the arrival of Jasmine and Aladdin from the film Aladdin. They’ll be joining Jafar to become the second and third characters to arrive on the island from this movie.
Beyond the arrival of these two characters, nothing else is known about this update so far. Although you might be eager to visit Agrabah, it likely won’t include a new Realm to explore since you can already visit The Sultan’s Palace and the Cave of Wonders if you have a Rift in Time.
How often does Disney Dreamlight Valley receive updates?
DDV doesn’t have an officially confirmed update schedule, but based on my experience with Gameloft’s update patterns so far, you can generally expect to see a new update release about every other month.
Some of these updates are much bigger than others, but Gameloft has so far delivered some form of new content in an update about every other month nonetheless. There’s usually an active roadmap that gives a clear picture of when we can expect to see new content and teasers for what to expect. Beyond this, there are also lots of known leaked characters who provide further insight into what future content may arrive.
All upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley updates
There are three known free updates for DDV arriving in the future. These updates are as follows.
- Early 2025 (February) Jasmine and Aladdin update.
- Spring 2025 (April or May) Alice in Wonderland update.
- Summer 2025 (June or July) Skull Rock, Peter Pan, and The Storybook Vale finale update.
All of these updates include free base game content available to all players. The Summer 2025 update also has the finale for The Storybook Vale DLC, which will likely include the ability to unlock Maleficient and Aurora if you have this pack installed.
Once the last known update is released in Summer 2025, we’ll likely get another roadmap outlining content for the rest of the year. We can probably expect to see around three additional updates throughout the rest of the year plus a possible DLC announcement.
