All Luojia Fragrant Vine locations in Black Myth Wukong

Black Myth: Wukong‘s Luojia Fragrant Vines are one of the most important (and most rarified) items you can find, and they’re scattered over multiple locations.

These plants let you upgrade your Gourd, which can be the difference between winning a fight or returning to the closest Keeper’s Shrine. With enough Luojia Fragrant Vines, you can also upgrade your Gourd to a maximum of nine uses. Once it’s fully upgraded, you can acquire the secret Mythical-rarity Supreme Gourd by speaking to a certain NPC in Chapter Five. This bumps your uses to 10 and grants you an achievement.

Here are all the Luojia Fragrant Vine locations in Black Myth: Wukong. We found most of these through regular gameplay, but we took a little help from content creator Lootward’s video to complete the set.

All Luojia Fragrant Vine locations in Chapter One of Black Myth Wukong

Only one Luojia Fragrant Vine in Chapter One is located just by the Marsh of White Mist Shrine in Bamboo Grove. Look across the Shrine to spot the characteristic yellow vines growing on a nearby tree.

Head to Windrest Bridge in the Yellow Wind Formation to spot the first Luojia Fragrant Vine in the second chapter. Go through the village until you reach a large gate surrounded by a few tough enemies. Once you clear them out, go through the gate and look for the tree just on the right.

The biggest gate in the village is guarded by enemies, but there's a Luojia Fragrant Vine after it.

The next spot you need is the Valley of Despair Shrine in the Sandgate Village area. Get the Keenness of Tiger and Sternness of Stone, then open the gate here. This Luojia Fragrant Vine is guarded by the Gore-Eye Daoist, who will give you a Spirit after being defeated.

You can buy a Luojia Fragrant Vine from Shen Monkey as soon as you start Chapter Three, which helps you get an early bump to get through this long chapter.

There’s another vine in the Outside the Mani Wheel Shrine, just after the Captain Wise-Voice boss. Head up the stone steps and look for the usual yellow leaves on the other side of the room.

The next stop is the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine after clearing Turtle Island. Hug the right side of the island, where the snake skeleton protrudes from the snow. Dispatch a couple of flying enemies and look for a set of stairs on your left.

Go up, take down the wolf enemy in the way, and go up just another flight of stairs to find a gate on the left side. Go through it to pick up another Luojia Fragrant Vine. Before leaving, don’t forget to check out the snake skeleton for a fight and a Curio, and don’t miss the Chen Loong quest on the other side of the shore.

Head to the Longevity Road Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy next and go down the slope near the shrine to find a set of stairs embedded in the snow. Go up the stairs and head straight until you find a gate in front of you.

Make a quick stop here to take down the bigger enemy that appears and grab an Awoken Wine Worm, then continue through the gate and go up another set of stairs leading to a small clearing. Two flying enemies guard this Luojia Fragrant Vine.

All Luojia Fragrant Vine locations in Chapter Four of Black Myth Wukong

Like with Chapter Three, stop by Shen Monkey anytime after starting Chapter Four to snag another Luojia Fragrant Vine.

After that, keep an eye out for another Vine once you reach the Verdure Bridge Shrine in the Webbed Hollow. Take the grassy bridge and keep hugging the left side until you get past a set of cocoons. Make another left past an opening in the wall until you come to a small village with a Luojia Fragrant Vine guarded by a scorpion-like enemy.

The next one is close to the Cliff of Oblivion Shine in the Webbed Hollow, after the fight with the Buddha’s Right Hand. Head through the hallway and over the newly formed (and kind of gross) bridge. Make a right and follow the path, then take the left path and drop down to the rope bridge (at least we hope that’s rope).

Cross the rope bridge and continue heading straight until you reach another, smaller rope bridge with a myriad of spider cocoons hanging above it. Cloud Step through the spiders while making sure you don’t fall off, then go for the verdant area on the other side of the bridge. You can find another Luojia Fragrant Vine by a tree.

The next area is just after the most horrid section I’ve ever seen in gaming. The story will bring you outside the Webbed Hollow and into the Temple of Yellow FlowersMountain Trail. This Vine is just ahead of where you come out after the cutscene, but if you’re backtracking, turn around from the shrine to find it.

The last Luojia Vine, for now, is located in the Chapter Four secret area, the Purple Cloud Mountain. You unlock this area through the Venom Daoist secret quest line, which requires you to defeat this enemy in two different locations. Travel to the Valley of Blooms Shrine and look to the right to spot this Vine by a tree in the distance.

If you haven’t unlocked the Purple Cloud Mountain secret area, the Venom Daoist first appears within a cocoon to the right of the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine, then again in an arena in the Court of Illumination. It’s the large arena that looked suspiciously like a place for a fight, though this enemy only appears here if you beat it the first time.

You can buy another Vine from Shen Monkey after reaching the fifth chapter, which leaves only one spot for you to find. Head to the Height of Ember Shrine in the Woods of Ember and take the left path instead of heading through the gate. Take the small slope on the left side, then drop down and take the right path to find the last Luojia Fragrant Vine guarded by a few minor enemies.

After upgrading your Gourd to rank nine, you can find an NPC in the Rakshasa Palace Shrine in the Furnace Valley area. Climb the stairs and cross the bridge, then take the path on the right and look for a room across the lava. Talk to the NPC, who will give you a good present.
