All status effects in Enotria The Last Song

Unlike other Soulslikes, Enotria‘s status effects can lend you a helping hand in situations that would otherwise leave you dead, scrambling for lost Memoria.

Here are all status effects in Enotria: The Last Song, including what they do, how to clear them, and how to effective use them against enemies.

Enotria The Last Song status effects, counters, and items

Throughout every Soulslike is impending suffering from status effects. You can try to use items sparingly as you carefully navigate across the meticulously crafted landscape of this Soulslike, but Enotria is highly unique in that you can use these status effects to sway the battle back in your favor. Each status effect corresponds to one of the four Elements in The Last Song. These impact your gameplay, but they can also trouble anyone who opposes you.

You can self-inflict or cause status effects on enemies by throwing concentrated matter containing an Element. Examples of these are Receptable of Malady (Sick), Flask of Vis (Dizzy), and Ancient Vessel (Wicked).

Let’s dive into each status effect and what you can do to clear or use it against one of the many enemies in Enotria.

Dizzy

Dizzy is the status element for Vis. Creating a drunken state to the inflicted, Dizzy increases melee damage while lowering defenses. If you’re dizzy from the alcoholic fumes, you will receive a boost in attacks, but be susceptible to greater damage if you fail to evade or parry in time. Enemies with larger health pools are easier to kill when afflicted with this status effect (as long as you avoid taking damage from their boosted attacks).

You can use Dizzy to your advantage to increase Stamina regeneration and attack damage, but keep your guard up by blocking and dodging to avoid taking increased damage.

Wicked

The Wicked status effect increases Elemental damage and is caused by Fatuo. If the enemy is feeling Wicked, their corresponding Fatuo, Vis, Malanno, or Gratia damage is increased. But, the positive to this status effect is that you can regain health by hitting the Wicked enemy. When the situation is flipped, you need to avoid taking hits, and use imbued weapons to deal Elemental damage in return.

Long-range weapons are best here. This is the same for enemies, where mages may attack from afar, dishing out high Elemental damage without any real means of you closing the gap to attack them in return.

Radiant

The high risk, high reward play of Enotria is works with the Radiant effect caused by Gratia. Enemies inflicted with Radiant slowly recover health points. While this sounds great if you’re feeling Radiant, it backfires tremendously when hit by an attack. Radiant users explode on impact, removing all health regen they previously built up and halting the regeneration process. This is the most useful status effect to use against enemies, but it’s the last thing you’ll want inflicted on you.

Sick

Caused by Malanno, Sick deals ticking damage to the inflicted user while dishing out damage to anyone within their close proximity. Unlike other status effects, Sick users can pass their affliction onto others simply by standing too close to them for a prolonged period of time. Other status effects occur from items, the environment, or imbued weapons, but Sick is contagious. Sick deals Malanno damage, making it a great counter against Gratia enemies.

When facing Sick enemies, use Malanno to negate the status effect damage, allowing you to inflict the status on yourself and then swap to Vis damage to take out the Sick user. You need to react to this status effect quickly, otherwise you could waste your healing items, or worse, die.
