Anime Vanguards is another strong contender in Roblox‘s competitive tower defense genre, hooking fans with a ton of anime-inspired characters. If you want to strengthen your defenses and become the ultimate rearguard action, our tier list is going to help.
Roblox‘s Anime Vanguards shares a lot in common with Anime Defenders—another popular tower defense title—and wants you to assemble a strong team of powerful units. Some are better than others though, so we’re going to break down Anime Vanguard‘s units with our complete tier list and explainers.
Anime Vanguards unit tier list
As Anime Vanguards has a lot of units to earn from Summons, I’m going to sift through the main selection of units—picking out the top-tier fighters, and the lesser (but still equally abled) units. You need a lot of Gems to roll for new units, and you can do this by completing challenges, claiming bonuses from Anime Vanguards monthly codes, and even being AFK!
Without further ado, here’s our ultimate Anime Vanguards tier list.
S-Tier Anime Vanguards units
- Alocard (Vampire King) — Possibly the second-strongest unit in Anime Vanguards (I’ll explain why later), you need this Mythic Unit at all costs.
- Cha-in (Blade Dancer) — A reasonable deploy cost is justified with unreal DPS attacks, a ton of range, and delivers a ridiculous AoE attack after only a few upgrades.
- Haruka Rin (Dancer) — Haruka Rin (Dancer)’s biggest quality is her support ability increasing the damage of units in her range for six waves until it caps—the ultimate support character.
- Igros — I wanted to put Igros here, as I still think he’s very strong in his base unit form, but A tier would also be fair.
- Igros (Elite Knight) — An evolved Igros turns it into the “Elite Knight” form, and this is why Alocard (Vampire King) is only number two. Igros (Elite Knight) is stupidly hard to get, but also stupidly OP.
- Noruto (Six Tails) — Once you get some upgrades under Noruto (Six Tails)’ belt, their attacks become more powerful. But it’s the “Sage training” and “Blistering Rage” passive abilities that help Noruto truly shine.
- Obita (Awakened) — Upgraded Obita is one of the coolest-looking characters in Anime Vanguards, and while its damage can’t live up to other top performers in the S-tier rating, Obita (Awakened) more than does the job if you’re struggling to get the best units.
- Song Jinwu (Monarch) — He has unreal damage from the get-go, a bunch of passives to destroy any mobs, and his range owns everyone too. A must-have unit.
- Sosuke (Storm) — Another one with a lot of upgrade potential, his damage can reach impressive numbers (with ok SPA,) and AoE is a big part of his later arsenal.
- Sprintwagon — The only character that can earn currency on top of the Yen you earn for finishing a wave or defeating enemies. Once another one or two units are added that can do this—and more—expect Sprintwagon’s tier status to drop.
A-Tier Anime Vanguards units
- Alocard — A slightly reduced version of Alocard (Vampire King) who is knocking on the S-tier door anyway—he bosses A-Tier in this form though.
- Agony — The Almighty Presence ability is fantastic for Agony, and he has more than solid enough AOE damage.
- Cha-In — Extremely capable with great crit damage and AoE potential.
- Haruka Rin — The beauty of Haruka Rin as a support character is that she’s very skill-based and has a higher ceiling to utilize properly. If you can, the unit is a handy weapon to have on the battlefield.
- Goi — DPS and speed are Goi’s main attributes—even in his base form—and he’s a great early-game unit if you can get lucky enough.
- Grim Wow — He has great SPA, and while Grim Wow’s base damage doesn’t… wow, his passives allow him to wale on tankier enemies.
- Noruto (Sage) — Not much to say here. Noruto is a solid A-Tier choice—nowhere near the level of an S tier, but a bit too good for B tier.
- Obita — You can’t go wrong with Obita for a lot of your first few hours in Anime Vanguards.
- Sosuke (Hebi) — Sosuke (Hebi) doesn’t compare to Sosuke (Storm)—because of course not—but they have consistently beastly stats.
- Vogita Super (Awakened) — I just don’t think Vogita Super (Awakened) quite fits into S tier; however, weak passives and a couple of unimpressive areas aside, the character is cool, and he performs well with some upgrades and rerolls.
B-Tier Anime Vanguards units
- Genas — The One Punch Man-inspired character has a solid attack rate, is a great early unit, and doesn’t need to do 100 situps a day to be boss.
- Inosake — A unit that needs time to get good. DPS and SPA aren’t amazing, but his “Serrated Blade” passive inflicts Bleed, and “Beastial Frenzy” gives Inosake a big buff after 10 kills.
- Itochi — Damn impressive DPS and status effect damage—could be the best B-tier unit, but also could be an A.
- Kinaru — Performs well against bosses and he has a great SPA to counteract his passive ability debuff.
More units are likely to be added as time goes on, and updates are sure to tweak unit stats, so keep checking back each month as we re-evaluate our Anime Vanguards tier list.
