If you logged into Apex Legends today to find the ranked split had somehow already reset, you’re not alone. Tons of confused players are social media are reporting the same.
Season 22 of Apex, Shockwave, launched less than a week ago, and its arrival was seemingly fairly smooth outside of some of the more common audio bugs that crop up in the game. However, only a day into the season, new map E-District rotated out of the ranked playlist—which wasn’t supposed to happen for the first three days of the season, letting players learn the ins and outs of the new map. Respawn apologized for the mistake and made E-District the only available map over the weekend to make up for the slip-up, but today there seems to be a much larger issue to deal with.
If you log into Apex right now, you’ll be greeted with a message welcoming you to a new ranked split, and the notification that your rank has been reset accordingly. Interesting, considering the first ranked split of the season is supposed to last for six weeks.
The reset has affected player’s ranked levels, but not the map rotation or the battle passes. Both of those elements are still as they should be in the first half of season 22, despite that new ranked split message showing off an image of World’s Edge and Kings Canyon, two maps not in the rotation for this split.
This is, of course, a likely bug or other mistake on Respawn’s end that players will need to wait for them to fix. So if you’ve been thrown back down to Bronze 4 after a week of grinding, you’ll probably just need to be patient—although there’s no word right now on if you’ll gain that progress back.
