Enshrouded just celebrated its most recent update, Souls of the Frozen Frontier, and fans of the survival-crafter are already looking to the horizon for what they can expect next. The game’s 2024 roadmap from earlier this year gives a solid overview of what’s to come.
Enshrouded 2024 roadmap: Everything to expect
In March 2024, Keen Games released a roadmap for the game’s first year of development. In the roadmap, the studio shared what fans can expect from 2024, including many of the features added in Update 4 earlier this month, like animal farming, musical instruments, and potted plants. There are also other major features coming “later this year,” such as world events, instanced dungeons, and world-visiting.
Those are just things to look forward to for 2024, however. The game is still in early access with no definitive date for its full release. But this gives Keen Games more time to finetune the features it already has in place, as well as add new ones based on player feedback. That means players can expect more changes over the course of the next few months and well into 2025.
How to send in player feedback for Enshrouded updates
Enshrouded has a feedback board you can use to share what kind of content you want to see in the game. Since it’s still in an early access state, the team behind the survival-crafter is open to player suggestions and designs future content with these in mind, so you can expect to possibly see a lot of the ideas appearing near the top of the board in future updates.
There’s no guarantee any player-proposed features will appear in Enshrouded, but the team is certainly aware of them and may still choose to implement at least some version of the most popular suggestions. So far, it seems like some of the top additions that could be included on the roadmap based on player feedback are a dedicated weather system, player-based quest progression, more farm animals, difficulty settings, and mounts.
Enshrouded update schedule
All Enshrouded updates so far are released randomly at any point. This means there’s no official update schedule so far. But players can still keep an eye on the game’s website to see whenever a new patch launches.
These patches come with a set of changes that players can find once they’ve been implemented into the game, so we recommend reading through them before you log in after an update—unless you prefer discovering new features on your own.
Patch notes for Enshrouded Update 4 v.0.7.4.0 – Souls of the Frozen Frontier
Souls of the Frozen brought so many changes to the game that it’s tough to list them all in one go. The most impactful features include a pets and farm animals system, new villagers and assistants, a frosty biome called the Albaneve Summits, and over 20 entirely new and updated enemy types. Here’s just a handful of the changes players can expect to see if they’re logging on for the first time since the update dropped:
- Tamable animals
- New NPCs that can be added to your base
- The Albaneve Summits biome
- New enemies
- A new boss encounter
- Tons of quality-of-life changes for base-building and combat

While you wait for more information about future content, there’s still lots to do and explore. You might try working to obtain the best weapons, start exploring to find the Carpenter, or express your creativity by building a shop for the Blacksmith.
