Famed 40K mega-nerd Henry Cavill’s Space Marine 2 verdict couldn’t get much better

Star Hollywood actor Henry Cavill has long expressed his love for the Warhammer 40,000 series, leaving many fans holding fire on jumping straight into the newly-released Space Marine 2 until they hear his verdict. Well, his verdict’s in—it’s “the mutt’s nuts.”

That’s not your everyday compliment, but The Witcher and Man of Steel actor was over the moon with his experience playing the new Warhammer 40,000 shooter in a post on Instagram today. “Seriously, though, they’ve done pretty well eh?” the Man of Steel gushed, sharing a photo of him playing Space Marine 2 and loading up a PvP lobby.

It’s the PvP that caught his attention the most. “Loving the PvP and am really looking forward to it growing and expanding. It has real potential to be absolutely awesome!” Cavill said, whilst also acknowledging any changes to the game mode might be “difficult to implement,” but he was excited to see what would come for Space Marine 2 as the game rolls out.

He also mentioned he gave the game’s campaign a crack, but admitted there was no way he was finishing it on the Angel of Death difficulty alone. In all, Cavill seems to be loving Saber Interactive’s take on Warhammer and can’t get enough of it—in between acting, of course.

Cavill super fans hoping to run into the actor in their next Space Marine 2 PvP lobby won’t know it’s him, however; he’s done the smart thing and hidden his alias from view. “So you’re saying the next time you matchmake you might get paired up with the Cavillrine,” one fan said, referencing Cavill’s cameo in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool & Wolverine.

Space Marine 2 publisher Focus even issued a PSA to those hitting the servers hoping to hunt down the actor: “Remember to always be kind to one another. Your silent teammate may be Henry Cavill.”

Cavill has long expressed his love for everything Warhammer 40K, so for those sitting on the fence waiting to hear an expert’s review, it doesn’t get much better than this. The movie star has gushed about Warhammer to just about everyone in the industry, and given his time as Superman has come to an end, there’s talk he will make an appearance in Amazon’s upcoming Warhammer 40K project (he’s already down as an executive producer).

That’s assuming the director is able to drag him away from Space Marine 2, which may prove difficult.
