Get ready to belly flop, slide, dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge all over the world in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer.
The first official look at the new CoD game’s multiplayer, after dozens of leaked videos hit the internet weeks ago when players found a backdoor into the beta test on PSN, shows off the new “omnimovement” mechanic in all of its sweaty glory.
CoD is continuing to lean into the world of the “movement demons” with BO6 and its movement mechanic that allows players to sprint, slide, or dive in any direction, which will undoubtedly create some epic moments amid all of the ridiculously chaotic gunfights online.
The two-minute trailer shared today shows off all of the movement along with some other additions, such as the ability to take an enemy as a human shield, along with swimming, a baseball bat melee weapon, the return of the RC-XD remote control car killstreak, and a sneak peek at 16 all-new maps.
New maps make a return to CoD with BO6 after Modern Warfare 3 launched last year with 16 remasters of the maps from 2009’s MW2. But remasters of classic Black Ops maps are likely to come to the game throughout seasonal content drops in 2025 as well.
Overall, there isn’t much new information in the trailer, but it’s still exciting to get a look at what CoD gamers will be grinding over the next year or so, including the return of Classic Prestige mode. In the past few games, a seasonal Prestige mode replaced the ability for players to level up as much as they wanted. Now, Prestige Master rank can be hit as fast as players can climb ranks.
The full reveal of BO6 will take place this Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Call of Duty Next in Washington, D.C., where content creators will show off multiplayer, Zombies, and new features coming to Warzone ahead of the BO6 early access beta beginning on Friday, Aug. 30.
