‘Hear me roar’ Strands (Aug. 19) difficulty rating and solving process

I found this to be one of the easiest Strands solves I’ve done to date, though I was certainly helped by spotting “Cheetah” before finding the Spangram. From there, I had a pretty good idea that the remainder of the board would be similar animals.

Cougar and Leopard were certainly the two I found the hardest to find, as I couldn’t get “Polar” out of my head for Leopard. I even tried looking to see if “Bear” was nearby, despite the fact they are certainly do not fall into the Big Cat category.

Rating the challenge on a five-star difficultly scale, I’d give it two out of five. There’s no doubt it would be harder for anyone less versed in the animal kingdom, however, so don’t be discouraged if you have struggled.
