The long wait for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has ended, but persistent game crashes are causing problems for players on PC. If you are one of those encountering the issues, we’ve got some potential fixes.
Space Marine 2 has plenty to enjoy, from a full co-op campaign to PvP environments, placing players amid the Warhammer universe. However, as is expected in modern gaming, it’s not always smooth sailing, and crashing issues are frustrating.
We’re here to help, though, and have outlined some potential fixes to help resolve these problems.
How to fix game crashes in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
Two common crashes are occurring in Space Marine 2, with the first being a general crash for the game. The other, however, is more specific and occurs while watching the first cinematic—but the fixes are largely the same, and we’ve outlined them below.
- Deactivate any overlay software on your PC, including Riva Tuner, Nvidia overlay etc.
- Update Windows 10. The required version must be above 1507.
- Verify that your game is launching on the correct GPU. This is done with the following steps:
– Open the Task Manager.
– Click on the Performance tab.
– Select GPU from the left-hand menu to see the GPU usage of all running processes. If Space Marine 2 is not showing, it is launching in the incorrect GPU. - Update your GPU driver. The process depends on the manufacturer of your GPU, so please refer to their guidance.
If crashing problems continue, ensure your PC fits the requirements for Space Marine 2. If your PC only matches the minimum requirements, you may need to upgrade some aspects of your build to meet the recommended requirements.
