Nitrate is a material required to craft several important resources in Enshrouded. But acquiring it early on can be tricky if you don’t know where to look and find your Alchemical companion. We’ll go over the entire process to unlock and craft Nitrate in Enshrouded.
How to unlock Nitrate in Enshrouded
Nitrate can only be crafted with the help of the Alchemist, meaning you need to rescue the Alchemist and also build his laboratory. First of all, you need to unlock the Alchemist. After you complete the Ancient Spire found near the Springlands, you can then rescue the Alchemist inside the Ancient Vault found above as part of the Powerful Alchemy quest. This lets you unlock the Alchemist in your base.
Now that you have the Alchemist in your base, you need to help construct the Alchemist Lab which lets you craft Nitrate, along with a bunch of other resources. Below are all the materials you need for the Alchemist’s Lab:
You can get Glass from the Carpenter, Smelter, and Blast Furnace. The Alchemist provides you with the Athanor if you follow along with his questline. You can then get Fired Bricks and Copper Bars from the Smelter or Blast Furnace.
After you construct the Laboratory, you will unlock the Nitrate recipe and can use it to start crafting Nitrate as long as you have the required materials.
How to craft Nitrate in Enshrouded
To craft Nitrate in Enshrouded, you need to put five Sand, five Salt, one Wood Acid, and one Alchemical Base into the Alchemist’s Lab and select the Nitrate formula. Each batch of Nitrite takes three minutes to process and gives you five Nitrate total.
You can find Sand by using a Pickaxe on any sandy terrain. You can get Salt from locations such as the Saline Quary and Egerton Salt Mine, and Ancient Spires tend to have Salt as loot regularly. You can craft Wood Acid at the Charcoal Kiln. The last thing you need to do is find Alchemical Base.
