How to get more Prefabs in Frostpunk 2
Build Industrial Districts
The main way to get Prefabs in Frostpunk 2 is by building Industrial Districts in your city. Unlike Extraction Districts, Industrial Districts don’t need a deposit or a specific location, but they still generate Squalor if close to the Housing Districts. I recommend constructing them in a free spot on the edge of the map to minimize the negative effects.
After building the Industrial District, click on it and select Prefabs in the Production section. The Industrial District produces Prefabs at a base rate of 12 per week. To keep production going, ensure your city has a steady supply of Materials as it requires 50 Materials without any modifiers and buildings.
Demolishing buildings or Districts partially refunds the Prefabs you spent on building them.
Depending on the map, you might have limited Prefab deposits in your city’s surrounding area or colonies. Extracting these deposits works the same as with Food or Materials. Build an Extraction District over the deposits to start extracting them.
Explore the Frostland
As you explore Frostland, you may come across forgotten landmarks that can yield Prefabs. Those usually have around 300 to 400 Prefabs (like a regular deposit) and require Frostland Teams to move it back to the city.
Laws and Ideas
Certain Laws and Ideas in Frostpunk 2 can help you get more Prefabs. These shouldn’t replace other means of getting Prefabs, but they can serve as a nice boost to the existing production.
