How to grow and harvest Fluxweed in Hogwarts Legacy

Wizards and witches around the globe have kickstarted their journeys around the Wizarding World with the release of Hogwarts Legacy.

Throughout your journey, you’ll likely be relying on the use of potions. From Wiggenweld Potions that heal you to Maxima Potions that increase your spell damage, these concoctions are very useful to all spellcasters. But while you can purchase potions from vendors in cities and traveling merchants, you might want to consider crafting your own to save those precious galleons.

To craft potions, you’ll need a number of plants and ingredients that can be bought, collected in the wild, or grown and harvested. One of these many ingredients is Fluxweed Stem, a necessary component for crafting Focus Potions. And luckily for players, Fluxweed is easy to grow.

Here’s how to farm Fluxweed in Hogwarts Legacy.

Before you can grow Fluxweed in its required Large Pot, you’ll need to have unlocked the Room of Requirement, as well as the Conjuring spell. When you’ve acquired both, it’s time to do some shopping in Hogsmeade.

Fluxweed seeds can be purchased for 300 galleons at The Magic Neep on the northeastern side of the village. Next, you’ll need to purchase a Spellcraft for a Potting Table with a Large Pot so you can plant the Fluxweed seeds. Thomas Brown at Tomes and Scrolls, the southernmost shop in Hogsmeade, sells this Spellcraft for 1,000 galleons.

After you’ve completed your shopping, visit the Room of Requirement at Hogwarts and create a Potting Table with a Large Pot using the Conjuring spell. From there, simply select the Fluxweed option.

You’ll need to wait 15 minutes before you’ll be able to harvest the plant, which will yield five Fluxweeds. You can also add fertilizer, which can also be purchased from the Magic Neep for 300 galleons, to increase the plant’s yield. Once the timer is up, all you need to do is simply interact with the Potting Table once more to automatically collect all of your Fluxweed Stem.

Now that you know how to farm Fluxweed in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s time to get out there and get some Fluxweed Seeds!

What are Fluxweed Stems used for?

There are a few key quests that require Fluxweed Stems throughout your playthrough. Witches and wizards must provide Flexweed for two key Professors’ assignments, including Sharp’s Assignment 1 and Professor Garlick’s Assignment 2.

For Professor Sharp’s Assignment 1, you are tasked with brewing a Focus Potion, which, when crafted, reduces the cooldown effect of spells. It takes about one minute to Brew and needs three Lacewing Flies, one Fluxweed Stem, and one Dugbog Tongue. Sharp’s Assignment 1 asks you to make a Fluxweed Stem for yourself, which is done swiftly using the above method.

The Focus Potion is also great to use outside of the mission, as the ability to cast incantations faster is great for darker playthroughs if you want to use the Unforgivable Curses faster than you could usually.

Equally, you can also use Flexweed Stems to make the Felix Felicis Potion to reveal the locations of large loot chests. The effect lasts for one in-game day but is only available to those who pre-ordered the game. You can’t get the recipe any other way. To make it, you need to use 1 Lacewing Flies and 1 Fluxweed Stem, so it’s a shame it isn’t available to all players, considering how useful it is to finding everything in every sub-area.
