How to kill Croakit in WoW The War Within

During your adventures through Khaz’Algar in WoW The War Within, you might have encountered a mysterious giant frog called Croakit. He’s hiding in a cave in northeastern Hallowfall, and whenever you try to enter the cave, you’re pushed back by slimes and can’t attack the frog.

The solution to the puzzle is surprisingly easy, so if you’re wondering how to fight and kill Croakit in The War Within, keep reading.

You encounter Croakit in a cave in northeastern Hallowfall at the coordinates 67.3, 23.5. The only way to get past the slimes and fight Croakit is by feeding him fish—specifically, 10 Shadowblind Groupers.

There are two ways to farm Shadowblind Groupers, and neither method takes long:

  • Fish in the waters nearby, which requires the Fishing secondary tradeskill.
  • Kill Kobyss Harvesters, which can drop several Shadowblind Groupers at a time. You can find them in the area outside the cave, around coordinates 64.2, 24.6. They look like strange murloc-human hybrids.

I found killing Kobyss Harvesters to be vastly quicker than fishing. I gathered up a group of six, cleaved them down, and together, they dropped the full 10-stack.

Once you have your stack of 10 Shadowblind Groupers, approach the cave entrance, target Croakit, and then right-click the fish from your inventory. After a short cast time, you toss a Shadowblind Grouper at Croakit. He eats it and gains a 60-second buff called Craving, which says he “desires more food.” It also starts filling up the Cravings bar above his head.

Make sure to feed him 10 Groupers before the buff expires. After you’ve fulfilled his appetite, Croakit comes charging out of the cave. He’s an elite, but you shouldn’t find him too hard to kill—especially if there are other people around.

For me, killing Croakit awarded a Radiant Remnant and 150 Hallowfall reputation, but he’s a rare mob, so he should have a higher-than-usual chance to drop a rare piece of gear.
