The Harbinger is a small quest and one of the first you can complete quickly at the start of the WoW The War Within campaign, but it was also doable in the pre-patch.
Although it’s a small quest on its own, The Harbinger is a part of a bigger chain quest that serves as an introduction to the Xal’atath, the main antagonist of WoW The War Within expansion. How to start The Harbinger quest in WoW The War Within
To start this magnificent quest, there are a couple of pre-requirements you have to fulfill first. Your main character needs to be level 70 and you need to complete the first part of this giant quest chain called The War Within. This quest will automatically pop out in your quest log and the first thing you need to do is go to Silithus and meet Thrall and Jaina Proudmoore. Once you finish this first part, you’ll unlock the The Harbinger quest. As the next part of a big questline, The Harbinger quest starts in Dalaran where you’re tasked with meeting Khadgar, the greatest archmage in Azeroth.
How to complete The Harbinger quest in WoW The War Within
When you’re in Dalaran, enter the Chamber of the Guardian and take the portal which takes you down. Upon entering The Portrait Room, turn right where you’ll meet an Elven ranger Hunter, Alleria Windrunner. Talk to her and hand in the quest, and a short cinematic with Alleria, Jaina and Khadgar begins. After the cutscene, turn in The Harbinger quest to Khadgar and then Alleria will give you a new quest called Door to the Ren’dorei. This is the next part of the chain quest which sends you to Telogrus Rift to find out more about this mysterious Harbinger, so prepare yourselves for a long journey.
