Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has a variety of game modes to enjoy, although they are not all available immediately. If you want to unlock Operations, we’ve got a guide for you.
Alongside a lengthy campaign, Space Marine 2 offers three-player co-op missions in the Operations mode and PvP combat in Eternal War. Unlike the campaign, however, neither mode is available when you first boot up the campaign.
Unlocking Operations won’t take too long, but there are some decisions to make. We’ve explained it all below.
How to unlock Operations in Space Marine 2
Operations mode in Space Marine 2 unlocks after completing the Rain of Terror tutorial campaign mission. Once completed, the Battle Barge is available, serving as the main hub in the game, and you change the mode by interacting with the Battle Map on the Thunderhawk Gunship launch platform.
Though Operations is available immediately, you are directed to the Battle Map after completing the Skyfire mission, which unlocks a side quest. This also unlocks the ability to change your weapon and loadout.
Click on an Operations mission to unlock it, though a pop-up appears advising that finishing particular missions in the Campaign are advised first. You can bypass this by clicking the accept option.

If you want to stick to the standard unlock process and work toward unlocking all six Operations missions available at launch, you can see each level and the recommended campaign mission to complete below.
- Inferno: Complete Skyfire.
- Decapitation: Complete Servant of the Machine.
- Vox Liberatis: Complete Voidsong.
- Reliquary: Complete Voidsong.
- Ballistic Engine: Complete Skyfire.
Additional Operations missions will be added to Space Marine 2 in future updates, as shown in the post-launch roadmap.
