Riot Games is finally adding a new member to the massively popular League of Legends virtual K-pop group K/DA—sort of.
In a new Dev Update video shared today, Sept. 23, League fans got a sneak peek at four new Superfan skins coming next month. And while they each inevitably have their own appeal, one skin in particular is already a smash hit in the eyes of the community: K/DA Gragas.
Well, the skin is actually called Music Fan Gragas, but I have a feeling most people are going to refer to it as K/DA Gragas regardless. We only got to see a teaser of the skin for about four seconds, but that was enough time to get a look at the Rabble Rouser jamming out to “POP/STARS” while wearing purple K/DA-themed clothes and with the initials of the K-pop group written across his large belly.
League players, pros, streamers, and more are already celebrating this first look at the Music Fan Gragas skin, but three other cosmetics are also a part of this Superfan thematic: Cosplayer Neeko, Esports Fan Trundle, and Ann-Sivir-sary. The Neeko, Trundle, and Gragas skins will be available for purchase from Oct. 9 to 28 as part of the new League Player Days event—and all proceeds from these items will go toward the Riot Games Social Impact Fund. The Sivir skin, on the other hand, will be “acquired upon mission completion during the event,” according to Riot.
The reveal of K/DA Gragas comes at a time when music is front and center on the minds of many League players. The 2024 World Championship starts this week, and we finally got confirmation that Linkin Park is responsible for this year’s Worlds anthem. Polish singer-songwriter Carolin “Wønder” Mrugała also recently created an original song to try to show fans what it’d be like if Katarina joined K/DA.
As a lifelong Sivir main, I’m most excited for her new skin, but I’m expecting to see much more of Music Fan Gragas on the Rift starting next month.
