Pokémon Go players are praising Niantic for its recent makeup Mega Rayquaza event, so much so that they want the event to return.
The makeup event was a one-day spectacle that spawned Mega Rayquaza around the world, and fans have pinpointed a few things about the event that stood out more than anything Niantic had done in the past—and it was all communicated flawlessly.
“This event was too good. No issues upon raiding, or delays. Also, Niantic informs us WHEN THEY SPAWN (the time) and HOW MANY TIMES THEY SPAWN AT THE SAME GYM (2 times every 25 minutes with a 5 min pause). Huge Niantic win.” was the message most fans were sharing on Reddit as they sang Niantic’s praises.
Most of the praise comes from Niantic’s communication before the event, something it has been severely lacking in the eyes of its players. Knowing when raids would spawn, how many times, and other bonuses like increasing Remoe Raid Passes felt like Niantic was listening to its community feedback and ensuring everyone had a chance to take part and know what was happening.
In fact, the event was such a success in the trainers’ eyes that the community is looking at ways to force Niantic to do a makeup event of a makeup event. Makeup event inception, if you will. The community is headstrong in trying to find a way for Niantic to do this again, or at least take the lessons learned from this event into future similar raid days.
Have to wait and see if Nianic listens, though.
