The Rocket League World Championship began on Sept. 10 with a 16-team Swiss format, setting the stage for the playoffs from Sept. 14 to 15. Swiss matches were all best-of-five, with only the top eight advancing to the Rocket League World Championship Series (RLCS) playoffs. The prize pool for Worlds is twice the size of the Esports World Cup, with first place taking home $300,000 of the total $1,165,500 prize pool.

The Swiss bracket rounds featuring the 16 Rocket League teams from seven different regions began on Sept. 10 and concluded on Sept. 13. Heading into the final day of the Swiss rounds, G2 and Team Falcons had secured a top-eight finish, earning the day off as the teams prepare for the playoffs.
