In the middle of what’s shaping up to be an exciting playoff conclusion, fifteen of the LCS’ best players are being rewarded for their regular-season excellence—with three teams in particular dominating proceedings this time around.
On August 21, Riot announced the LCS’ All-Pro teams for the Summer 2024 regular season. It should come as no surprise to League of Legends fans that all three teams consist of players from Team Liquid, Cloud9, and FlyQuest. The three teams are widely regarded as a cut above the rest, and the All-Pro teams showcase this.
Team Liquid had a perfect 7-0 record in the regular season and were honored with four out of five players lining up on the first-team All-Pro. Only Um “UmTi” Hyeon was absent on the first team, with Robert “Blaber” Huang getting the nod. The second and third teams consisted of most Cloud9 and FlyQuest players, two of which finished second and third in the regular season.
When a team is as dominant as Team Liquid, it’s hard not to have their players highlight the All-Pro team. TL’s APA and Impact are the two strongest to the claim of first-team All-Pro. Impact has an MVP-level split thus far with multiple Player of the Series awards. And for APA, he has gone from undesirable to undeniable as the best mid laner in the LCS.
APA’s rise to the top has not gone unrecognized in the LCS, with the North American mid laner being awarded the “Most Improved Player” for the 2024 season. That isn’t where it stops for Team Liquids awards either, with their coaching staff receiving the “coaching staff of the split” award. Team Liquid continued their impressive international showings into the LCS Summer Split, only dropping three games across seven best-of-threes the entire split.
