I’m not afraid to admit I stumbled on today’s Worldle. It was tough, even by The New York Times’ standard. Before I give away the answer, I have a few hints and clues that might lead you in the right direction.
Today’s Wordle hints and clues (October 18)
- Hint 1: To give, take, or use only a small amount of something.
- Hint 2: A verb.
- Hint 3: The word begins with the letter “S.”
- Hint 4: The bride’s parents did not s____ on the champagne – there was plenty for everyone.
Today’s Wordle answer (No. 1,217, October 18)
Are you still struggling with today’s Wordle? I don’t blame you. The answer is STINT. Stint is a verb that means to supply a very ungenerous or inadequate amount of (something). “He doesn’t stint on wining and dining.” The word can also be a noun that means a person’s fixed or allotted period of work.
Today’s Wordle difficulty rating (October 18)
The New York Times said today’s Worldle took players an average of 4.4 out of six guesses to get the correct answer, which doesn’t surprise me. While it’s not a difficult word on the scale of things, I struggled to get the answer. I’d give it a three out of five on the difficulty rating.
