The Modern Warfare 3 year of Warzone wears on in Urzikstan as eyes turn to whatever is to come with Black Ops 6.
More information about Warzone’s bigger updates to come with BO6 will be revealed at CoD Next on Aug. 28. But, for now, players can enjoy the midseason update for season five a week prior and everything it has to offer.
Here’s everything to look forward to in the Season Five Reloaded update for Warzone.
Warzone Season 5 Reloaded patch notes
Warzone’s midseason update for season five is admittedly light on content, but new weapons and a returning mode could excite some players.
Weapon balancing changes
The biggest change in any Warzone patch is the weapon balancing. As weeks wear on, metas go stale as players all gravitate to the same guns. In season five, it’s been the Static-HV and STG44, two new weapons, that could be due for changes.
The full patch notes on Aug. 21 will reveal all the weapon changes, including buffs and nerfs, ahead of when the update goes live at 11am CT.
Two new weapons
The Torque 35 bow and Spear melee weapon, added in the update as part of the previously Classified battle pass sector, likely won’t be too popular in Warzone. But it’s always possible that the bow may somehow be broken and become meta for a week or two.
Supreme Resurgence
The main addition in Season Five Reloaded is the Supreme Resurgence mode.
“In this mode, Rebirth Island is filled with exceptional ground loot,” Activision said. “This includes powerful meta-inspired weapon blueprints with cool camos; there’s a premium price for loadouts, so obtaining these weapons is recommended. Experience these and other changes to the Resurgence formula including additional health for all operators.”
The first win for every player in the mode rewards the “Spilled Beans” weapon camo.
Recon Flyover
Building campers, beware. This new public event has the ability to mark everyone on the map if you’re not careful, so make sure to look out for the incoming notification when it’s about to begin.
“There’s no place to hide during a Recon Flyover, so get out there and fight,” Activision said. “When this event is activated, two waves of Advanced UAVs highlight scanned operators as red player arrows – with the recon zone shown as a red circle in your mini-map – and fly towards them. If you’re caught in this Recon, you will be exposed to other players. Use the intel to reassess your plan, seeking the best ground to engage imminent danger.”
This article will be updated with more information from the official patch notes when the update goes live on Aug. 21.
