What is Madden 99 Club? Explained

As a new Madden title’s release edges closer, discussions about the 99 Club dominate social media. But what exactly is it? We’ve got the details you need to know.

While Madden is a video game, and the stats players have are essentially just the opinion of EA Sports, they certainly matter. Players react to their statistics with either glee or dismay every year, showing they pay attention.

The biggest prize in the Madden world is entry to the prestigious 99 Club, an honor reserved for a select few. We’ve got a breakdown of what it means here.

The Madden 99 Club is the title given to a group of players in the game who have a base rating of 99 overall. It does not include players who receive a higher-level card in an Ultimate Team promo, for example.

Madden’s 99 Club is a prestigious honor for any NFL athlete and is reserved only for a select few. For example, Madden 24 only had five members in the 99 Club: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Zach Martin, Aaron Donald, and Justin Jefferson.

Madden 25’s 99 Club has been steadily released during EA Sports’ rating week, which began on July 29 and includes a record-breaking fifth appearance from Travis Kelce, the first Tight End to feature five times.

Remarkably, players rated 99 overall are not the highest ever in Madden’s history as Madden ’99, and Madden 2000 both had players with a 100 overall rating. But EA swiftly scrapped that approach, and nobody has had higher than 99 since.
