When does WoW’s 20th Anniversary Patch 11.0.5 launch?
At the time of writing, Blizzard has not officially confirmed a release date for WoW’s 20th Anniversary update, Patch 11.0.5. However, based on Blizzard’s usual patch cadence and WoW’s anniversary date, we can make an educated guess.
Blizzard released WoW on Nov. 23, 2004, and it turns 20 years old on that day this year—a Saturday. It’s safe to say WoW’s anniversary patch will launch at some point in November. Major updates usually launch on Tuesdays, and the update needs to go live before WoW’s birthday, so we should probably expect Patch 11.0.5 to drop on Nov. 12 or 19.
WoW patches usually launch eight to 12th weeks apart, and Patch 11.0.2 went live on Aug. 13, so a mid-November release would put 11.0.5 well in line with Blizzard’s usual update cadence.
The anniversary patch also gives Shamans new Ascendance forms, adds six new classes for the Dracthyr race, introduces time-limited world bosses, and makes many balance changes. We’ll update this article with a countdown timer as soon as Blizzard reveals the exact date, so stay tuned in for more information about Patch 11.0.5.
