How to unlock Kyle in The First Descendant

There are some truly unique Descendants in The First Descendant, each with its own skill ceiling and barrier to entry. None come close to Kyle though, whose players must balance an ever-decreasing shield and a barely controlable rocket booster.

But, should you find that balance, you’ll reach a power level very few other Descendants can match. Titans of Destiny 2, this Descendant is for you… if you’re skilled enough.

Here’s how to unlock Kyle in The First Descendant.

What does Kyle do in The First Descendant?

Kyle is a bruiser-type Descendant that generates shields and knocks back enemies. His passive, Experienced Technician, sees his shields deplete over time as they’re converted into Magnetic Force which empowers his other abilities.

When he runs out of shields, he gains a buff that regenerates shields extremely quickly, allowing him to cycle between burst damage using Magnetic Force and survivability with shields.

Here is a list of Kyle’s active abilities:

  • Repulsion Dash
    • Kyle charges forward and deals damage to targets, knocking them back. Dealing damage recovers bonus Magnetic Force and grants Kyle a DEF buff for a short time.
  • Magnetic Bulwark
    • Kyle extends his hands and creates a barrier that blocks incoming projectiles. Ranged attacks that hit the shield recover a burst of Magnetic Force for Kyle.
  • Magnetism Spurt
    • Kyle activates a defensive buff for a short while that sees his Magnetic Force used ahead of his shield or HP whenever he takes damage. Once he runs out of Magnetic Force, a small explosion is generated knocking enemies back and restoring allies’ shields nearby.
  • Superconductivity Thrusters
    • Kyle takes flight, activating his rocket booster on his back and slamming the ground, dealing massive damage on impact. Magnetic Force is fully consumed on impact, adding an additional damage burst based on the amount consumed.
