The Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii will have tons of fun activities to indulge in, including an opportunity to check out the upcoming Pokémon TCG Pocket game.
If you’re attending the Pokémon World Championships (Aug. 16 to 18) in Honolulu, Hawaii and you’re wondering what you can do as a spectator, The Pokémon Company has it all laid out for you on the official site. From a Worlds history museum to screenings of the anime, Pokémon fans will have no shortage of options. But perhaps one of the most exciting parts is the chance to get an early look at Pokémon TCG Pocket ahead of its release on iOS and Android devices.
Badge holders can get a “sneak-peek experience of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, where you can try opening packs and experience all-new Pokémon TCG artwork for the first time.” In other words, you’ll not only be seeing the new game in action, but also some new artwork with special effects. “Open packs, experience unique digital finishes, parallel effects, and more. You may even find an immersive card featuring details that extend past traditional Pokémon TCG cards!” the site states.
If you’re a TCG player, fan, or collector, you’ll probably want to prioritize this activity during Worlds weekend. The Pokémon TCG Pocket demo will be held on Level Three, Main Corridor at the Hawai’i Convention Center at the following times (Hawaii Standard Time):
- Friday, Aug. 16: 8am to 6pm
- Saturday, Aug. 17: 8am to 6pm
- Sunday, Aug. 18: 9am to 4pm
A badge is required for this demo as well as other TCG-related activities, such as checking out the Illustration Contest Gallery, the Merchant Room, and the Collect & Trade Corner.
