How to catch a World Championships 2024 Pikachu in Pokémon Go

Not every Pokémon appears the same while you play Pokémon Go. They spawn in unique locations or show up for a short time during an event. One particular ‘mon that might be tricky to find is a World Championships 2024 Pikachu.

This version of Pikachu won’t be around for long and you can only track it down through certain activities. We can tell you it won’t appear in the wild, which means you need to do more legwork to try catching it. For any Pokémon Go collectors, it’s a must-have catch for you to get before it disappears.

You can find this Pikachu during the World Championships 2024 event in Pokémon Go from Aug. 16 to 20. The in-game event will continue for a few days longer than the in-person World Championships 2024 event from Aug. 16 to 18. Unfortunately for trainers, because this Pikachu isn’t appearing in the wild, you can expect to find it in one-star raids or from completing Field Research tasks.

The Field Research tasks you want to look out for are the event-exclusive ones. You’ll know you have one of these Field Research tasks based on the distinct banner underneath the task. The tasks that reward you with a World Championships 2024 Pikachu are powering up Pokémon 15 times, winning a raid, and battling in the Battle League five times while playing Pokémon Go.

If you do not have any of these tasks in your Field Research tab during the event in Pokémon Go, remove the ones you have and seek out another PokéStop. There’s a good chance you can spin one that has not given you Field Research that day for an opportunity to get another one. You do need an open Field Research task slot to receive one, though.

Of the options, challenging a World Championships 2024 Pikachu in a one-star raid might be your best option. These happen relatively often while playing Pokémon Go, and many players should be able to complete them themselves. The problem is tracking one down in your local area, and you only have a limited time to complete it before this ‘mon disappears.

For true collectors of Pokémon Go, you might want multiple encounters with World Championship 2024 Pikachu. There’s a chance it could be a Shiny version too, but you must be lucky to encounter one.
