The Hotfix 1.1.3 for The First Descendant, released on Sept. 26, includes a long-awaited public mode for Invasion Dungeons, changes to Freyna, new Modules, and a couple more things.
Here’s everything you need to know about The First Descendant Hotfix 1.1.3.
Everything included in The First Descendant Hotfix 1.1.3
Public Invasions
As promised by Nexon, the Invasion Dungeons seasonal activity gets a public mode. You can play with friends or matchmake with other players to grind for Hailey instead of running it solo repeatedly. It’s not all fun and games, though, as the number of enemies in the Invasion Dungeons scales with the team’s size.
Aside from the Invasions, traps in four regular Infiltration Operations have been modified or removed to make your experience smoother. Scout monsters who roam the map now drop more HP orbs and ammo, too.
Descendant changes
Ahead of Ultimate Freyna’s release (and possible balancing changes) in the mid-season update, Freyna, Yujin, Eisemo, and Kyle received updates to their kits. Changes to Freyna seem to be a part of Nexon’s plans to strengthen DoT characters.
Freyna’s Contagion Links passive now has a chance to spawn a Toxic Puddle when killing an enemy inflicted with Room 0 Trauma. The puddle inflicts Room 0 Trauma and deals damage. Freyna’s other skills and Modules have been adjusted to inflict Toxic Reaction, Panic, Despair, Decay, and Nightmare effects instead of Poison. New effects deal more damage (except for Nightmare) and are stackable with each other.
New Modules
The Hotfix 1.1.3 features two new Modules focused on Descendant’s Shields. Even though Shields aren’t the best form of sustain in The First Descendant at the moment, it could be worth picking them up if you’re playing someone like Enzo.
- Bio Sync Shield: Reduces HP Recovery from HP orbs and instead regenerates the Shield by the said amount.
- Last Stand: When attacking enemies with a skill, consumes all Shield to deal additional damage that scales on the amount of Shield consumed. After activation, the Module recovers the Shield every second for a certain period.
Rewatch cinematics
If you need a refresh on the main story of The First Descendant, the patch adds an option to rewatch cinematics. You can rewatch any cinematic that is linked to an Infiltration Operation by starting a Private Operation. The rest are available via Arche Traces—interactable objects you can find where the cinematic took place.
