Fuecoco’s Community Day event has arrived to Pokémon Go, giving you an increased chance to find one in its Shiny form. An added bonus to the event is the Special Research, which gives you more bonuses to finding a strong one before the event ends.

During the Community Day event, if you evolve Fuecoco into its final form, Skeledirge, it can learn the charged move Blast Burn. This is a powerful Fire-type charged move that only comes around every so often, greatly enhancing a Pokémon’s usefulness on your team. Here’s what you need to know about all tasks and rewards you get for completing the Crocapella Special Research in Pokémon Go, and if it’s worth buying.

Is it worth getting Crocapella Special Research ticket in Pokémon Go?

For anyone who has yet to encounter a strong Fuecoco with decent stats, this is a must-have purchase for the event. There are multiple Fuecoco encounters as you complete the Crocapella Special Research ticket. If you’re also someone who regularly plays in the Great and Ultra Leagues, Skeledirge is about to rise up through the ranks as it unlocks Blast Burn.

Buying the Crocapella Special Research is not a huge invesment. It’s a ticket that costs $2, or the equivalent pricing amount in your local currency. If you’re actively playing Pokémon Go frequently, this is a good thing to grab.

Not only can Skeledirge learn Blast Burn, but it’s unlocking another attack to its standard move pool, Torch Song. It’s Skeledirge’s signature move that it can learn in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and in my opinion, it’s a stronger choice than Blast Burn.

What Torch Song has over Blast Burn is it’s a low cost Fire-type move that increases Skeledirge’s attack stat by one rank every time you use it. You need 45 energy to use Torch Song, and it does 70 damage. For Blast Burn, you need to 50 energy, and it does 110 damage. That’s a dramatic difference between these two moves, with Blast Burn unleashing 40 more damage at the cost of five energy. However, the secret is the damage increase from Torch Song. You’ll increase Skeledirge’s overall damage out for every attack, especially Shadow Ball, the other charged move that is a must-have choice.

Arguably, it’s a toss up of what Skeledirge you want to go with in Pokémon Go. We lean more towards one that knows Torch Song, but if you can spare to have another, make sure it learns Blast Burn. You never know when Niantic will change their mind, increasing or decreasing the damage for these attacks. It’s better to have two with these moves, ready to use them in the Great or Ultra Leages.
