Ditto is a unique pocket monster in Pokémon Go as it disguises itself as one of many in-game Pokémon instead of just spawning on the map as a wild spawn.
When you catch a Pokémon in-game, there is a slim chance it’ll be a Ditto in disguise. You won’t know if it is until you catch it and see an “Oh?” message above the Poké Ball.
Ditto cannot disguise itself as every Pokémon, however, so here is a list of the creatures to look out for.
All Ditto disguises in Pokémon Go (August 2024)
Ditto in Pokémon Go can be one of a handful of Pokémon. In August 2024, the list of Pokémon that have a slim chance of being a disguised Ditto includes:
Disguised Pokémon | Can it be Shiny? |
---|---|
Oddish | Yes |
Koffing | Yes |
Rhyhorn | Yes |
Goldeen | Yes |
Spinarak | Yes |
Numel | Yes |
Bidoof | Yes |
Gothita | Yes |
Solosis | Yes |
Bergmite | Yes |
Stufful | Yes |
The list represents a potential pool of Pokémon that can be Ditto. If an event is on, Ditto and these Pokémon spawn less, so you need to wait for days between events to boost your chances.
If you’re lucky, Ditto can also be found as a Shiny Pokémon, but the odds of finding a Ditto are already so slim that finding a Shiny Ditto is the ultimate flex to show off to your friends if you happen to come across one.
