Farming is one of several work skills your Pals are capable of in Palworld, and it’s arguably one of the most important. Pals with the Farming skill can drop or find additional items while they are active at your base if certain conditions are met.

It’s important to note that the Farming skill is different from the general practice of growing crops. For that, you need Pals skilled in Planting, Watering, and Gathering to fully automate the crop-growing process in Palworld.

Pals with Farming, and the structures they require, are critical to getting Wool early in the game, which is a crucial building component of several important workbench recipes and base facilities. Farming Pals can also produce items like Eggs, Milk, and Honey when assigned to the Ranch.

Beegarde

Beegarde, as its name would suggest, produces Honey when assigned to the Ranch. But in addition to making Honey, Beegarde is also one of the most valuable Pals to have at your base, and you should know how to catch Beegarde due to the sheer number of skills it’s proficient in: Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering, Medicine Production, Transporting (level two), Gathering, and Farming.

Dumud

Dumud is the only pal that gives you a constant supply of High Quality Pal Oil which is important for crafting resources like Polymer and guns like Musket, SMGs, and more. Polymers make Circuit Boards in the late-game, which are essential to make crude oil extractors and a myriad of electric buildings to boost your economy. You can get High Quality Pal Oil by killing or catching Mammorest but it is a very time-consuming process so Dumud passively makes this critical resource right at your base.

Sibelyx

Far down the complete Paldeck list you’ll find Sibelyx—a curious-looking creature. Once again, it’s only capable of level one Farming, but it’s another Pal that can drop a rare material: High Quality Cloth. Combined with its level two Production and level two Cooling skills, Sibelyx is perhaps the best farming option in Palworld.

Best early-game Farming Pals in Palworld

Lamball

Lamball is the number one entry on the Paldeck, and one of the most abundant Pals early on. They are also a valuable member of your base for their ability to produce Wool. In order to produce Wool, though, Lamball must be assigned to a Ranch. The Ranch is unlocked from level five of the Technology tree, and can be built with 50 Wood, 20 Fiber, and 30 Stone.

Lamball will automatically graze at the Ranch after one has been built and will frequently drop Wool. Any Pals with the Transporting skill will automatically take the Wool and deposit it in a chest for you. Lamball also has the Transporting skill and the Handiwork skill, making it a staple of any Palworld workforce.

Cremis and Melpaca also drop Wool if assigned to a Ranch.
