Best Pals for Planting in Palworld

Planting is one of the early jobs you’ll need to do on your Palworld base. Your Pals are hungry, after all, and that food has to come from somewhere. Luckily for players, the best Planting Pals can make that process go relatively quickly.

For those of you just getting your base off the ground, there are easy-to-find Planting Pals that spawn close to the game’s starting area where you begin your Palworld journey. As you progress, though that adventure, you’re likely going to want to sub out those early starters for better Pals who can plant seeds quicker.

Best Planting Pal in Palworld

Lyleen

Lyleen is inarguably the best Planting Pal, thanks to its level four Planting stat. It didn’t have to work too hard for that top spot, either, given how it’s the only Pal with level four Planting in the entire Paldeck. Lyleen also boasts stats in Handiwork (level three), Gathering (level two), and Medicine Production (level three), making it a useful worker to have on your base.

Naturally, this makes it particularly difficult to locate and capture. To find Lyleen, travel to the Deep Sand Dunes fast travel point, then head northeast. You’ll need to cross the sea before coming across a massive ancient structure. Lyleen spawns in this area around level 40, so be sure to bring your best guns and equipment.

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Harvest Goddess
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level four), Handiwork (level three), Medicine Production (level three), Gathering (level two)
  • Possible Drops: Low Grade Medical Supplies, Beautiful Flower, Innovative Technical Manual
  • Hunger: 6/10

Best late-game Planting Pals in Palworld

Prunelia

Prunelia is one of the only high-level nocturnal Planting Pals, and it is also efficient at Gathering and Transporting. Its passive skill increases your harvest yield, making it even more useful.

To add Prunelia to your Palpedia, you need to make your way to Feybreak Island toward the south and you can catch the Alpha Pal there near the northern sandy beaches. If you don’t want to fight the boss, you can also find them roaming the desert and the volcanic area of the new island.

  • Element: Grass/Dark
  • Partner Skill: Prayer for Abundant Harvest
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level three), Medicine Production (level three), Gathering (level two), Handiwork (level one), Transporting (level one)
  • Possible Drops: Low Grade Medical Supplies, Beautiful Flower, Carrot Seeds
  • Hunger: 3/10

Broncherry

Broncherry is a reliable planter in Palworld with three levels in the skill. One advantage it has over Lyleen is Planting is the only Work Suitability it has on its resume, meaning it won’t wander off to do another job and neglect your fields. This makes it the best single-skill Planting Pal, and it’s for this reason we’ve placed Broncherry above the other level-three Planting Pal.

You can find Broncherry around the Sealed Realm of the Swordmaster fast travel location at coordinates -105, -467—the same location where you can find and catch Moazzarina for Milk. Ours was level 19 when we found it, so be sure to bring a few Mega Spheres with you.

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Overaffectionate
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level three)
  • Possible Drops: Broncherry Meat, Tomato Seeds
  • Hunger: 7/10

Petallia

Like Lyleen, Petallia has many hands in many plant beds—and by that, we mean it excels at more than one Work Suitability. Planting is its highest stat at level three, but it also sports a level two in Medicine Production, Gathering, and Handiwork. It wraps up its list with one level in Transporting, making it a solid all-arounder.

To catch Petallia, you’ll need to make the trek to Pal Sanctuary No. 1, which is south of the starting island across the ocean. Petallia begins spawning at level 28, so be sure you’re leveled up before you make the trip.

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Blessing of the Flower Spirit
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level three), Handiwork (level two), Gathering (level two), Medicine Production (level two), Transporting (level one)
  • Possible Drops: Beautiful Flower
  • Hunger: 3/10

Best early-game Planting Pals in Palworld

Planting fields for growing your own food is something you’re going to want for your base as soon as possible. So, if you’re just starting out in Palworld, you may want to make these early-game Pals a priority.

Lifmunk

It may not technically be considered a Starter Pal, but Lifmunk really may as well be one, as it’s likely to be the first Grass type Pal you encounter. As such, it’s also among the first Pals you’ll catch with the Planting Work Suitability. It’s only at level one, of course, but Lifmunk is quite versatile, having no less than four other Work Suitabilities. So, it’s well worth catching a few, even if you’ve yet to craft any fields.

There are plenty of early-game locations where you can find and catch Lifmunk, but we’d recommend just following the path to Rayne Syndicate Tower, and you should come across it.

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Lifmunk Recoil
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level one), Handiwork (level one), Gathering (level one), Lumbering (level one), Medicine Production (level one)
  • Possible Drops: Berry Seeds, Low Grade Medical Supplies
  • Hunger: 1/10

Tanzee

You’ll likely already be after a Tanzee if only so you can see it wielding an assault rifle, but it’s also another great early addition to your base. If you’re struggling to find and catch Lifmunk, Tanzee’s the perfect alternative since it shares a lot of the exact same Work Suitabilites, making it well-versed in other areas besides Planting. The one difference is that Tanzee can help transport items and resources to your storage containers.

Like Lifmunk, you should be able to find Tanzee in the grassy areas in the direction of the Rayne Syndicate Tower. Or you can head to the areas directly west of the Small Settlement.

  • Element: Grass
  • Partner Skill: Cheery Rifle
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level one), Handiwork (level one), Gathering (level one), Lumbering (level one), Transporting (level one)
  • Possible Drops: Mushroom
  • Hunger: 2/10

Gumoss

If you want a Pal that you can catch incredibly early and will only dedicate itself to Planting at your base, you’re going to want Gumoss. While it lacks Lifmunk and Tanzee’s versatility, you’ll never need to worry about Gumoss wandering off to work on something else since it only has one Work Suitability. Maybe get two so you can keep one in the party, as its Partner Skill improves your own lumbering efficiency, making it a bit easier to accrue Wood, which is one of the most important materials for the early game.

Just like the last two Pals, Gumoss shouldn’t be difficult to find. Just follow the path from the starting area to Rayne Syndicate Tower and you’ll come across one or two eventually.

  • Element: Grass/Ground
  • Partner Skill: Logging Assistance
  • Work Suitability: Planting (level one)
  • Possible Drops: Berry Seeds, Gumoss Leaf
  • Hunger: 1/10
