Does Dr Disrespect’s X/Twitter post mean he’s coming back?

The Dr Disrespect controversy has been one of the biggest talking points in the streaming and general community in 2024, and there’s new evidence to suggest the Two-Time might be making a return.

Dr Disrespect—real name Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV—has been involved in a couple of controversies in his time—after all, he was once suspended from Twitch for streaming live from an E3 bathroom. However, the biggest mystery that shrouded the Doc’s aura for many years was his Twitch ban that resulted in him moving to YouTube for his streaming.

Allegations arose in late June 2024 about Dr Disrespect previously messaging a minor—hence the ban. He took a break from streaming, addressed the allegations, and has been in the wilderness ever since. Based on recent movements from his social media, his status might be about to change.

Is Dr Disrespect coming back to streaming?

Dr Disrespect has not confirmed he is returning to streaming yet, but recent posts to his X profile give some inclination that a comeback is the direction he and his internet persona are headed.

In his final stream before an extended hiatus, Dr Disrespect repeatedly said he was “burnt out,” and teased that his streaming career might be over. Not only that, but he said this almost immediately after his studio—Midnight Society—parted ways with the streamer.

But on July 31, Dr Disrepect’s X page had its first new post since his “Twitch Ban statement” on June 25. The new post features no words, but has a picture of the internet personality sitting at a game board with chess pieces on his side and checkers on the other.

You can clearly see the content creator in the full Dr Disrespect costume, and he even responded to comments on the post—some positive, and some quite disparaging concerning the allegations.

Common sense dictates that if Dr Disrespect was going to hang it up, another detailed statement or message of retirement would’ve been posted. The July 31 post leans in the opposite direction, but take this all with a grain of salt for now until more is official.

Keep checking back as we continue to monitor the situation and await a full response from Dr Disrespect regarding his future in streaming, and if there’s a possibility he might finally make the jump to Kick.
