Fallout 76’s Milepost Zero is out now, offering some fun new content for gamers across the wasteland, including the long-anticipated feature of Caravans.
A new quest, an update for crafting, and social system are available now in the update, which comes in at 80-plus GB across all platforms. As always, there’s a slew of bug fixes and optimizations to enhance the experience, too.

The highlight of Milepost Zero is, of course, the new quest “A Bump in the Road,” which allows you to start a career as a caravan leader and make deliveries around Skyline Valley. The quest will arrive later this month, but this update sets the stage for everything to come, including protecting your caravan and caravans of others from enemies.
“Once setup, you will escort caravans across the Shenandoah region and recruit a strong crew of varying professions,” Bethesda said. “This crew will help you build up your own personal outpost where new rewards await you.”
Legendary Crafting is new in the update, too, which gives players more control over the Legendary Mods that will roll on Legendary items. These mods can be equipped to gear, but the mods will need to be obtained either by trading for it with another player, or scrapping Legendary items that have that desired mod equipped to it.
“Once you obtain your desired mod, you can head over to your armor or weapons workbench to attach it to a legendary item in exchange for Legendary Scrip,” the patch notes said. “Each time you replace a mod on an item, the cost to replace another will increase. If you are lucky enough to learn how to craft the mod, head over to your Tinker’s workbench to craft it. The crafting cost will vary depending on the mod. Mods require Legendary Modules and various other items to craft that you can find around the Wasteland.”
Another highlight of the update is the new social system called Best Builds. If you always thought your C.A.M.P. was worthy of praise, you can now seek out that praise by submitting it to get likes from other players. You can also visit player-created Best Builds that are marked on the map with a blue ribbon, and “like” other builds you find in turn.
