The long-awaited Ghost of Tsushima sequel was finally just revealed at PlayStation’s State of Play, but those hoping for more Jin Sakai adventures will be disappointed.
In fact, it looks like the game may have little to do with the original at all. Ghost of Yōtei was revealed to take place in the year 1603, which is several hundred years after the events of Tsushima. And this game looks to feature a female protagonist.
“In 1603, a new Ghost named Atsu sets out on a journey in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei, an area filled with sprawling grasslands, snowy tundras, and unexpected dangers,” the trailer’s YouTube description says.
The short teaser also confirmed that the game is currently slated to release in 2025, which may come as a surprise to many, given how late it has been revealed. But, at least the wait doesn’t appear to be much longer.
This is a breaking news story. It’s currently being written in real time.
