To become Doom’s Chosen in Fortnite, you need to find and claim Doom Island. This sounds a lot easier than it actually is and involves a lot of luck, skill, and patience, so here’s a complete breakdown of this process.
- Find Doom Island. This location only has a five percent chance of spawning in every match, so luck plays a huge role in whether you have any shot at becoming Doom’s Chosen. The spawn rate of this island will be occasionally boosted throughout the season, as it was boosted to 12 percent from Sept. 6 to Sept. 9, so be sure to check the official Fortnite Status page on X (formerly Twitter) to see what the current rate is.
- Capture Doom Island. This works much like the regular Floating Loot Island—you need to stay in the circle around the center area until you have fully captured it. Although this process looks the same, it’s a lot harder than the regular island since pretty much everyone wants to experience becoming Doom’s Chosen. Because of this, try to make sure you have strong loot and be ready to fight for your life multiple times while capturing the island.
- Be chosen by Doom. If you’re playing alone, you’re guaranteed to be Doom’s Chosen once you capture the area. But if you’re playing with friends, Doom randomly chooses one of you to become his champion.
- Interact with the cauldron to claim Doom’s powers. After claiming the island, Doom’s face appears right above the cauldron, and you can interact with it to claim your epic new powers. A special cutscene plays as you’re taken into the skies above the island, then Doom sends you back down to do his bidding.
- Wreak havoc and win. Now that you have the best powers you can get, all that’s left to do is use them to win.
When you become Doom’s Chosen, your skin changes from whichever character you have equipped to Doctor Doom himself as he fully covers you in his powerful armor.
