To become a true pirate in Fortnite’s Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails event, you have to complete many tough tasks. One of these quests asks you to damage opponents in the storm.
This can be a tricky task to complete since you have to find an opponent to vanquish and do so while taking heavy damage from the storm. Precision is key for this one, so here’s how to damage opponents in the storm in Fortnite.
Damage opponents in the storm in Fortnite, explained
To damage opponents in the storm in Fortnite, you have to deal a total of 100 damage against any kind of enemy while both of you are in the storm. This can be tricky to get done because some specific conditions have to be met for this quest, so here’s what you need to know to finish it.
- The opponent you choose can be an enemy player or an NPC, but all interactive NPCs don’t count for this quest. This means you can target and attack NPCs like Wastelander guards and Forecast Tower guards but not Pirates of the Caribbean Cursed Sails NPCs or other NPCs you can buy from like Magneto and Artemis.
- Both you and your opponent must be in the storm to finish this quest. This generally means you have to survive long enough for the storm to move in quite a bit since your target likely won’t be near the edge of the map.
- You have to deal the full 100 damage while you’re both in the storm. If you or your opponent step out of the storm when you land a hit, this won’t count for the quest.
The easiest way to get this quest done is to choose an NPC to fight and wait to battle them until the storm hits the area they’re at. NPCs are generally a lot easier to fight than enemy players which makes finishing this task easy as long as you get the timing right. Forecast Towers, Redline Rig, Brutal Beachhead, and the Nitrodrome are the best spots to work on this quest at.
Once you get this task done, you can move on to finishing other key tasks so you can unlock Jack’s Ship Glider. This includes quests like finding and consuming Apples, destroying the nine false pieces of eight, and raising the flag on the Floating Island.
